History
In 1986, appalled at the impersonalization of large, cement floored “warehouse” kennels; concerned about the safety of in-home pet-sitting visits and well aware of the need for pack play and structure, Carrie Barrett opened the Kennels at Puddlebank for her grooming clients in the Newton,Needham, Wellesley,Weston area. Having spent years as a camp counselor and waterfront director and student of Early Childhood Development and Psychology, Carrie has translated her education and love for dogs and cats into a structured social program which has become a model for many social kennels over the years.
